1. How can I find out if my loft can be converted?
2.2m is the minimum height requirement (from the floor to the highest point in your loft) for a loft conversion to be viable option. It is still possible to convert if you have less room than this however it would usually involve lowering the ceilings on your first floor.
By completing our online enquiry form or calling our office, we can arrange with you to visit your home, where we will talk with you about what it is you would like to get out of your loft space.
In this appointment Tom, our director, will come to your home at a time that is convenient to you. He will have a look at your loft space, take measurements and use his vast experience to consider all your options. He will then have a chat about your hopes for your future living space and answer any questions that you may have. Using the information gained during this visit, we can then provide you with a detailed quotation which we will send you.
The cost is largely determined by the size of the project, what features you would like etc. We will help you achieve the best use of your space for your budget. Our quotes are fully itemised and fixed, allowing you full control over your budget. If we make a saving on an item, we are able to pass that saving onto you. Our quote covers all stages from design to completion.
Our conversion process typically takes between 6 and 8 weeks, but this is dependant on the size of the project. When we come out and see you we will be able to give you a more accurate timescale.
Of course! We are lucky that our many happy clients are thrilled to show people around their new space. We will always try to arrange a visit to a home with a similar loft conversion to that of your requirements. Our gallery also shows a variety of our complete loft conversions.
All loft conversions require building regulation approval from the local authority. These regulations ensure safety measures are in place and set a standard of construction and design.
Crown Loft Conversions usually fall under the permitted development category so planning permission will not normally be required. However there are some exceptions where planning permission will need to be sought for example if you live in a listed building or a conservation area, or your conversion is over a certain size. You do not need to worry about this as we will guide you through the whole process.
Of course, we want to work with you to achieve your perfect new living space.
At Crown Loft Conversions our teams are highly skilled and experienced and need little supervision. Our boys know what they’re doing! We have a supervisor who will visit your project from time to time to ensure that the work is being carried out to our high standard and to meet with you to address any questions that you may have.
